Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 oz. red food coloring
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
Method
- Cream the sugar and butter.
- Add eggs.
- Make a mixture of food coloring, cocoa and salt.
- Add buttermilk and flour alternately. Add vanilla.
- Sprinkle soda over batter.
- Pour vinegar over soda. Fold into batter.
- Do not mix!!! Pour into pans.
- Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
- Frost with Vanilla Frosting.
