Ingredients

  • 1 pt. tomatoes
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 4 oz. or 1 c. uncooked macaroni
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. shortening

Method

  • Brown beef and onion in shortening in an electric skillet. Drain off excess grease.
  • Stir in hot water, tomatoes, catsup, salt, sugar and pepper.
  • Add macaroni.
  • Mix well.
  • Bring mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low.
  • Simmer, uncovered, 15 or 20 minutes. Stir occasionally or until macaroni is tender.
