Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 stick butter
- 1/4 tsp. soda
Method
- Boil slowly until 256°; do not stir at all when it starts to boil.
- Let boil slowly until it reaches 256°.
- Pour on well buttered slab of marble (cool).
- Let mixture cool until you can handle.
- Butter hands and pull until it loses its gloss.
- Pull into strips and cut into pieces.
- Store in airtight container.
- I use a heavy 8-quart pan.
