Ingredients

  • 3 lb. chuck roast
  • 1 (11 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 8 medium carrots, cut crosswise into halves
  • 8 small potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. water

Method

  • Place piece of foil, 30 x 18-inches, in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  • Place beef in pan.
  • Mix mushroom soup and onion soup mix.
  • Spread over beef.
  • Add vegetables.
  • Sprinkle with water. Fold foil over and seal.
  • Cook in a 300° oven 4 hours.
  • Skim fat from gravy. Serve gravy with beef. Serves 8.
