- 1 1/2 lb. lean pork, cut into small pieces
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 6 to 7 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 can drained mushrooms or fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 3/4 c. raw rice
- 1 can consomme soup
- 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
- sliced almonds
- 1 1/3 c. water (approximately)
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- salt
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco
- 1 1/3 c. instant rice (uncooked)
- 1 (15 oz.) can black-eyed peas, drained
- 3 slices cooked bacon, crumbled or 3 Tbsp. real bacon bits
Method
- Heat water, onion, salt and Tabasco to boiling.
- Stir in rice. Cover and remove from heat.
- Let stand 10 minutes.
- Stir in black-eyed peas and bacon.
- Heat to serving temperature and eat immediately.
