Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 4 Tbsp. Crisco
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 c. plain flour
- 1 c. mashed potatoes (left over creamed potatoes may be used)
- 1 pkg. yeast or 1 yeast cake, softened in 1/4 c. water or potato water if available
Method
- Scald milk, sugar, Crisco and cool.
- Add potatoes, flour and egg whites.
- Mix thoroughly and knead until well blended.
- Put in covered bowl, lightly greased for several hours or overnight. Roll and cut like biscuits.
- Dip in hot Crisco and fold over.
- Let rise about 2 hours.
- Bake at 350° about 30 minutes.
