Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or lemon curd
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. poppy seed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine, melted

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Grease bottom only of 4 mini loaf pans. In a large mixer bowl, combine flour, 1 1/4 cups sugar, milk, 1 cup margarine, eggs, poppy seed, baking powder, salt and sugar. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl until mixed.
  • Pour into pans. Bake 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Remove from pans.
  • Cool.
  • Mix 1/3 cup sugar, melted margarine and lemon juice.
  • Use to glaze bread.
