Ingredients
- 2 cans whole, peeled tomatoes
- 1 to 10 cloves garlic
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. capers
- 1 handful fresh basil leaves
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
Method
- Saute onion and garlic in olive oil in a large pan.
- When done, add whole tomatoes from can (retain juice until later). Cook tomatoes until soft.
- Add capers, salt and pepper to taste, basil and the remaining juice.
- Cover and simmer about 1/2 hour.
