Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground round
  • 1 c. cracker crumbs
  • 1 (8 oz.) jar pizza sauce, divided
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp. oregano leaves, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

Method

  • Combine meat, cracker crumbs, 3/4 c. pizza sauce, onion, bell pepper, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, eggs and seasonings. Mix lightly.
  • Press meat mixture into an 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  • Pour off drippings.
  • Spread remaining pizza sauce over meat.
  • Bake 10 minutes longer. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to oven until cheese begins to melt.
  • Garnish with green pepper rings.
  • Serves 8.
