Ingredients

  • 4 med Artichokes
  • 1/4 c. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic pwdr

Method

  • Slice 1 inch from top of artichokes.
  • Cut stem even with base.
  • With kitchen shears, snip off sharp tips.
  • Wash thoroughly.
  • Place upside down in a baking dish.
  • Combine water, oil and lemon juice.
  • Pour over artichokes.
  • Cover with plastic wrap.
  • Microwave at high (100%) till base is tender, 16 to 18 min.
  • Remove plastic wrap.
  • Turn right side up.
  • Recover.
  • Let stand 5 min.
  • Place butter in a 1 c. measure.
  • Microwave at high (100%) till melted, 30 to 45 seconds.
  • Stir in lemon juice and garlic pwdr.
  • Serve with artichokes.
