Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 jar favorite tomato sauce
  • 3 c. grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • oregano
  • pepperoni
  • corn meal or Cream of Wheat

Method

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in 1/4 cup warm water.
  • Add remaining water, oil and salt in big bowl.
  • Gradually stir in flour one cup at a time until dough forms a ball and pulls away from sides of bowl.
  • Turn out on a floured surface; knead 10 minutes.
  • Return to oiled bowl; cover and let rise 1 hour.
  • Punch down; divide in 2 parts.
  • Roll out flat on floured surface. Sprinkle 2 cookie sheets with cornmeal.
  • Spread out each dough on cookie sheet.
  • Sprinkle each with equal amounts of sauce, cheese, oregano and favorite toppings.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350°.
