Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. hot water
  • 1 envelope dry yeast
  • 2 c. flour

Method

  • In a bowl, combine sugar, salt and hot water; stir to dissolve sugar and salt.
  • Allow to cool to lukewarm.
  • Sprinkle yeast over and allow to dissolve.
  • Add flour 1/2 cup at a time.
  • Turn dough onto floured surface and knead thoroughly.
  • Divide into 12 small pieces and roll into balls.
  • With rolling pin, roll each ball into 5-inch circle.
  • Place on baking sheet.
  • Bake at 500° for 5 to 7 minutes or until puffed and golden.
  • Yields 12 rounds.
