Ingredients
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 6 pineapple rings
- 2 egg yolks, well beaten
- 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
Method
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Combine brown sugar and butter in an 8-inch frying pan or cake pan.
- Stir over low heat until thoroughly mixed.
- Arrange fruit in this mixture. Stir sugar slowly into beaten egg yolks and add hot water slowly. Beat well.
- Add vanilla and sifted dry ingredients, mixing well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
