Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 large egg

Method

  • Blend with a fork; then flour, sugar and salt.
  • Cut in shortening until crumbly.
  • In a small bowl, beat water, vinegar and egg.
  • Add to flour mixture.
  • Stir until moistened.
  • Divide into 4 equal parts.
  • Shape into balls ready for rolling.
  • Wrap each in wax paper and refrigerate at least 1/2 hour.
  • When ready to use, lightly flour both sides and roll out.
  • Can be frozen.
