Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. + 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. cold water

Method

  • Blend shortening, salt and flour with pastry blender in a medium size bowl.
  • Mixture will resemble coarse crumbs when ready. Gradually sprinkle cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Toss the mixture lightly with fork after each addition.
  • To roll, place between waxed paper.
  • For cream pies, prick single crust; bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
