Ingredients
- 1 pkg. German chocolate (sweet, 4 oz.)
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 can evaporated milk (14 1/2 oz.,)
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie shell
- 1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Method
- In a small saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring until blended.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in milk; set aside.
- In large bowl of electric mixer, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time; add vanilla and mix thoroughly.
- Gradually blend in chocolate mixture; pour into unbaked pie shell.
