Ingredients

  • 4 c. unsifted flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 3/4 c. Crisco
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 large egg

Method

  • Put flour, sugar and Crisco in large bowl and mix until crumbly.
  • A pastry blender is helpful.
  • In a
  • small
  • bowl, mix egg, water and vinegar.
  • Add to
  • flour
  • mix
  • and
  • combine until moistened. Divide dough into 5 to 6
  • portions.
  • Wrap each one in plastic and chill. Each portion will make one 9-inch crust. You can thaw, freeze, refreeze, re-roll
  • and
  • it won't hurt its quality.
  • How nice to reach into the
  • freezer
  • and find it, but thaw it in the fridge before rolling.
