Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 lb. round or sirloin steak
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 green peppers, sliced thin strips
  • 1 qt. stewed tomatoes
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 c. shredded cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. noodles

Method

  • Brown beef in butter and garlic salt.
  • Remove meat and add onion and green peppers and saute 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Return meat; add tomatoes and bouillon cube.
  • Simmer about 1 hour.
  • Blend cornstarch, water, soy sauce, sugar and salt.
  • Add to mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Reduce heat; stir occasionally 3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over cooked noodles and cover with beef mixture.
