- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 1/2 lb. round or sirloin steak
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 1/2 green peppers, sliced thin strips
- 1 qt. stewed tomatoes
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 c. shredded cheese
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 c. noodles
Method
- Brown beef in butter and garlic salt.
- Remove meat and add onion and green peppers and saute 2 to 3 minutes.
- Return meat; add tomatoes and bouillon cube.
- Simmer about 1 hour.
- Blend cornstarch, water, soy sauce, sugar and salt.
- Add to mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Reduce heat; stir occasionally 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over cooked noodles and cover with beef mixture.
