Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 Tbsp. sifted cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped

Method

  • Cream shortening.
  • Add sugar gradually and beat until light. Add eggs; blend well.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Add flour and salt; mix thoroughly.
  • Add nuts and mix.
  • Drop by scant teaspoonful 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet and with back of spoon, press thin as possible.
  • Bake at 352° for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Roll at once over handle of spoon as they harden rapidly.
  • Will make 3 dozen.
