Ingredients
- 2 qt. sliced pears
- water
- 5 c. sugar
- 1/2 medium lemon
Method
- Peel, core and slice pears.
- Place pears in dishpan.
- Cover with water.
- Cook until tender.
- Remove pears from liquid.
- Reserve 2 cups of liquid.
- Add to pears 5 cups sugar, lemon slices and reserved liquid.
- Cook over medium heat until thickened, 1 to 2 hours.
- Place in jars and seal.
