Ingredients

  • 6 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 medium pears
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tbsp demerara sugar
  • None None Powdered sugar, to dust (optional)

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray 2 baking pans with no stick cooking spray.
  • Working with one sheet of phyllo at a time, brush with a little melted butter. Fold in half and brush surface with more butter. Crumple each piece loosely into an 3-inch round, gathering inwards as you work. Transfer to prepared pans.
  • Quarter, core and cut pears into thin slices. Arrange among folds of phyllo to fill tarts. Sprinkle with almonds and demerara sugar.
  • Bake for 15 mins, until golden. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve warm with ice cream.
