Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. white Karo syrup
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 box confectioners sugar

Method

  • Cook water, sugar and syrup until very hard ball.
  • (Use candy thermometer.)
  • Beat egg whites and pour into syrup.
  • Beat rapidly while adding.
  • Add vanilla, then beat, adding confectioners sugar a little at a time until 3/4 of box is used.
  • Warm peanut butter for spreading; sprinkle confectioners sugar on wax paper and put about 1/3 of the dough on it.
  • Roll thin and then spread with peanut butter.
  • Roll up like a jelly roll and wrap in wax paper. Chill about 20 minutes, then do the other dough in 2 parts the same.
  • Slice in small pieces.
