Ingredients
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. white Karo syrup
- 3 egg whites
- 1 box confectioners sugar
Method
- Cook water, sugar and syrup until very hard ball.
- (Use candy thermometer.)
- Beat egg whites and pour into syrup.
- Beat rapidly while adding.
- Add vanilla, then beat, adding confectioners sugar a little at a time until 3/4 of box is used.
- Warm peanut butter for spreading; sprinkle confectioners sugar on wax paper and put about 1/3 of the dough on it.
- Roll thin and then spread with peanut butter.
- Roll up like a jelly roll and wrap in wax paper. Chill about 20 minutes, then do the other dough in 2 parts the same.
- Slice in small pieces.
