Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 2 to 3 c. chopped peaches
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon

Method

  • Melt oleo in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Mix the flour, shortening and milk; stir with fork until dough leaves sides of bowl.
  • Turn out onto lightly floured board or cloth; knead just until smooth. Roll dough out into large rectangle, 1/4-inch thick.
  • Spread peaches on dough; sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Roll up like jelly roll.
  • Seal edges with a little water.
  • Cut into 12 to 15 pieces; place in pan with butter.
  • Boil sugar and water until melted; pour over rolls.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 minutes, until golden brown, not dry.
