- 1/4 lb. orange peel
- 1/4 lb. lemon peel
- 1 lb. citron, candied
- 2 lb. nuts
- 2 lb. seeded raisins
- 1 lb. butter
- 1 lb. cherries, candied
- 1 lb. pineapple, candied
- 1 doz. eggs
- 5 c. plain flour
- 1 lb. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. cloves
- 4 tsp. allspice
- 1 pt. blackberry wine
Method
- Soak nuts and fruits in wine overnight.
- Then mix.
- Pour into 1 large or 2 medium tube cake pans.
- Cook at 250°
- for 5 hours with water in oven. Makes 10 pound cake.
