Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 8 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Method

  • Sprinkle yeast into water; let stand a few minutes, then stir until dissolved.
  • Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt.
  • Cool until lukewarm.
  • Add yeast, eggs and half of the flour; beat well. Add more flour to make a dough that will not stick to bowl.
  • Put into greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 1/2 hours).
  • Punch down and turn out on board.
  • Shape in 50 balls and put close together in pan.
  • Let double 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.
