Ingredients
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1 c. butter
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 beaten eggs
- 8 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Method
- Sprinkle yeast into water; let stand a few minutes, then stir until dissolved.
- Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt.
- Cool until lukewarm.
- Add yeast, eggs and half of the flour; beat well. Add more flour to make a dough that will not stick to bowl.
- Put into greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 1/2 hours).
- Punch down and turn out on board.
- Shape in 50 balls and put close together in pan.
- Let double 30 minutes.
- Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.
