Ingredients
- 72 ripe tomatoes, peeled and crushed
- 12 large onions, grated fine
- 3 hot peppers, grated fine
- 3 pt. vinegar
- 6 Tbsp. salt
- 4 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. each: cinnamon, cloves and allspice
Method
- Mix tomatoes, onions, peppers, vinegar and salt in large kettle.
- Add spices and brown sugar.
- Cook down until thick.
- Put in jars and seal.
- Makes 16 pints.
