Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. flour, sifted
- 1/2 c. buttermilk with 1 Tbsp. soda dissolved in it
- 1 lb. orange slice candy, cut up
- 1 lb. dates, cut up
- 1 c. grated coconut
- 2 c. chopped pecans
Method
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time.
- Roll candy and dates in part of flour sifted for cake.
- Add remaining flour to egg and butter mixture, alternating with milk.
- Add coconut, candy, dates and nuts.
- Place mixture in tube pan and bake for 2 to 2 1/2 hours in a 300° oven.
