Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 c. orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
  • 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Stir in nuts and orange peel.
  • Mix egg, orange juice and salad oil in a small bowl.
  • Add liquid mixture to dry mix and blend well.
  • Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 55 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan. Makes 1 loaf.
