Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Flank Steak
  • 2 tsp butter or margarine
  • 5 stalks celery sliced, 2 dark green for flavor 3 light green for appearence
  • 1 lge zuccini thin sliced
  • 1 lge brown or purple onion thin sliced
  • 1 very lge or 2 medium tomatoes chopped
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms with stems
  • 1/2 c soy sauce + 1/4 c for cooking
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed or garlic powder may be used.
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Method

  • For marinade: Place Beef (or Chicken)into gallon storage bag. Pour in 1/2 c soy, garlic and 2 slices of onion. Seal bag well. Shake to coat well. Keep in the fridge and turn periodically until ready to grill.
  • When ready to fix:
  • While grilling steak to med rare (throw away marinade), saute all vegetables except tomatoes in 2 tsps butter until just tender. Do not overcook, add soy sauce and tomatoes just to heat up, salt and pepper to taste. Slice Beef on the diagonal and place on platter and surround with vegetables. If wanted can be served with rice or noodles drizzled with sauce from pan. Goes very well with green salad. Left over Beef or Chicken from this dish makes a wonderful sandwich next day if desired. Use a french roll lightly toasted spread with Hellmann's mayo, add Beef serve with a dill pickle and enjoy.
