- 1 1/4 c. boiling water
- 1 c. rolled oats
- 1/2 c. butter or shortening
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Method
- Pour
- boiling
- water
- over
- rolled
- oats.
- Let stand 20 minutes.
- In
- the
- meanwhile,
- cream
- butter with white sugar, brown
- sugar, eggs and vanilla.
- Beat well and add the oatmeal mixture.
- Sift
- the flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon; add to the mixture.
- Beat
- until smooth.
- Pour in greased 9 x 12 x 2-inch deep oblong pan.
- Bake about 40 minutes at 350°.
- Frost with Broiled Frosting.
