Ingredients
- 1 c. softened butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- granulated sugar
Method
- Mix butter, confectioners sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract.
- Blend in flour, soda and cream of tartar.
- Cover; chill for 2 to 3 hours.
- Heat oven to 375°.
- Divide dough in half.
- Roll each half to three-sixteenths inch thick on floured board.
- Cut into desired shapes; sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Place on greased baking sheet.
- Bake 7 to 8 minutes, or until light brown on edges.
- Yields about 5 dozen.
