Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening (half butter)
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 3 c. warm water
- 8 to 10 c. self-rising flour
Method
- Mix first 3 ingredients together in large bowl.
- Dissolve 2 packages yeast in 3 cups warm water.
- Add to mixture.
- Mix well by hand.
- Stir in 8 to 10 cups self-rising flour (2 cups at a time), adding just enough for easy handling.
- Cover; let rise in bowl until double.
- Punch down.
- Roll and cut as for biscuits.
- Place in greased pans.
- Cover.
- Let rise until double.
- Bake at 350° until brown.
- Also can be made into cinnamon rolls or loaves of bread.
