Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening (half butter)
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 3 c. warm water
  • 8 to 10 c. self-rising flour

Method

  • Mix first 3 ingredients together in large bowl.
  • Dissolve 2 packages yeast in 3 cups warm water.
  • Add to mixture.
  • Mix well by hand.
  • Stir in 8 to 10 cups self-rising flour (2 cups at a time), adding just enough for easy handling.
  • Cover; let rise in bowl until double.
  • Punch down.
  • Roll and cut as for biscuits.
  • Place in greased pans.
  • Cover.
  • Let rise until double.
  • Bake at 350° until brown.
  • Also can be made into cinnamon rolls or loaves of bread.
