Ingredients
- 10 taco shells, coarsely broken
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 (1 1/4 oz.) pkg. taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. dried minced onion
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese
- salsa sauce
Method
- In a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole, place half of the broken taco shells.
- In skillet, brown beef until crumbled; drain. Add taco seasoning mix and water.
- Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Stir in onion and tomato sauce.
- Spoon meat mixture over shells. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of cheese.
- Place remaining taco chips over cheese.
- Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
- Serve with salsa sauce.
