Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 2/3 c. shortening
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar (white)

Method

  • Mix dry ingredients with the shortening, cutting it in until mixture is the size of peas.
  • Beat the egg, water and vinegar with a fork.
  • Add to flour mixture; mix well.
  • Form into a ball.
  • Divide ball into four (4) pieces.
  • Each piece will roll to make one (8 or 9-inch) pie crust.
  • Unused portions may be wrapped and stored in refrigerator for a week or freezer about 1 month.
