Ingredients
- 1 gal. milk
- 2 c. sugar
- 18 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 12 eggs
- 4 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Put dry ingredients in pan.
- Beat eggs separately.
- Add to dry ingredients.
- Add milk, stirring in a little at a time to avoid lumps.
- Set pan in boiling water (double boiler).
- Stir until it thickens.
- Test on a wooden spoon.
- Coats spoon when done.
- Use a drop of yellow food coloring to add color and add vanilla.
- Do not let it curd, but cook until it coats wooden spoon.
