Ingredients
- pastry for 2 crust 9-inch pie
- 6 c. apples, peeled and sliced
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 Tbsp. brandy
Method
- Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg and cinnamon and brandy with melted butter.
- Mix the mixture lightly with apples.
- Place in pastry lined pan.
- Cover with top crust; make slashes in top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Seal ends and flute edges.
- Bake in 425° oven for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 375° and continue baking for 35 to 40 minutes, or until crust is lightly brown.
