Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. powdered sugar

Method

  • Mix flour, yeast and sugar.
  • Cut in shortening.
  • Add water and mix.
  • Roll dough in 12 x 14-inch rectangle pan or dish.
  • Brush butter on.
  • Mix 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over top.
  • Roll up and cut in about 15 slices, 3/4-inch thick.
  • Put in buttered pan and let rise 2 hours.
  • Bake at 425° for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Glaze while hot with powdered sugar and 4 teaspoons water.
