Ingredients

  • 1 pound grnd chuck
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. finely minced onion
  • 3 tbsp. water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 c. finely minced onion
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce

Method

  • Combine meat, egg, 1/4 c. onion, salt and pepper in bowl.
  • Mix well.
  • Shape mix into 24 meatballs.
  • Place in 12x8-inch glass baking dish.
  • Microwave at HIGH 2 min.
  • Turn meatballs over and rearrange.
  • Microwave at HIGH 2 min, or possibly till hard.
  • Pour off excess fat.
  • Cover with waxed paper and let set.
  • Combine 1/4 c. onion and butter in 1 1/2-qt glass casserole.
  • Microwave at HIGH 3 min, or possibly till onion is tender.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Microwave at HIGH 3 min, or possibly till warm.
  • Pour sauce over meatballs.
  • Serve with warm rice.
  • Serves 4.
  • An alternative to a main dish meal is to serve these meatballs as an appetizer.
