Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1 (16 oz.) can pork and beans
  • 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans
  • 1 (16 oz.) can limas, drained

Method

  • Fry bacon; crumble into small pieces.
  • Fry onion and ground beef until brown; drain.
  • In very large baking dish, combine bacon, beef, onion, catsup, sugar, mustard, vinegar and salt.
  • Fold in beans and stir gently.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes or at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Serves 10.
  • Good with corn bread or muffins.
