Ingredients

  • 2 c. fresh cherries
  • 4 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 to 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. milk/cream

Method

  • Bring to boil the cherries, water and spices.
  • Add sugar to taste according to the sweetness of the cherries.
  • (I start with 1/2 cup of sugar and add an additional 1/2 cup if cherries are unpitted or tart.)
  • Boil cherries for 20 minutes or until tender. When done, blend flour and milk; add to cherry mixture while boiling, just long enough to mix.
  • Serve cold.
