Ingredients
- 2 1/2 to 3 lb ground meat or ground sirloin
- 1 egg
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 small onion, minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 or 2 squirts of ketchup
- 2 small cans or 1 large can of tomato soup
Method
- Mix together the first 6 ingredients until well blended. Then shape into an elongated loaf.
- Place meat loaf into a 9x13 pan or small roaster.
- Next pour tomato soup all around the meat loaf, along with 1 can of water.
- Slightly mix water and soup with a fork.
- Cover
- and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until juices run clear when forked.
- Baste with gravy one or twice during baking time.
- Uncover the last 15-20 minutes to brown.
