Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 to 3 lb ground meat or ground sirloin
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 or 2 squirts of ketchup
  • 2 small cans or 1 large can of tomato soup

Method

  • Mix together the first 6 ingredients until well blended. Then shape into an elongated loaf.
  • Place meat loaf into a 9x13 pan or small roaster.
  • Next pour tomato soup all around the meat loaf, along with 1 can of water.
  • Slightly mix water and soup with a fork.
  • Cover
  • and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until juices run clear when forked.
  • Baste with gravy one or twice during baking time.
  • Uncover the last 15-20 minutes to brown.
