Ingredients
- 1 gal. sliced cucumbers
- 4 tsp. alum
- 8 tsp. salt
- vinegar
- 10 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. pickling spices
Method
- Cover cucumbers, alum and salt with vinegar and let stand 2 months.
- After 2 months drain all vinegar off cucumbers.
- Cover with 10 cups of sugar and 2 teaspoons pickling spices in cloth. Let stand 2 weeks.
- Ready to eat.
- (Keep adding sugar until 10 cups are used.)
