Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. bacon drippings
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 box Minute rice
  • 1/2 green pepper, diced
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz. size)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
  • dash of pepper

Method

  • Melt 1/4 cup of bacon drippings in saucepan.
  • Add sliced onion, green pepper and Minute rice.
  • Stir over high heat until lightly browned.
  • Add the tomato sauce.
  • Mix mustard, pepper and salt with 1 1/2 cups of hot water and add to saucepan.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
