Ingredients
- 1 gallon cucumbers, sliced
- 4 tsp. non-iodized salt
- 4 tsp. powdered alum
- 4 tsp. pickling spice
- vinegar, enough to cover
- 6 c. sugar
Method
- Cover cucumbers with vinegar and spices. Let set for 6 weeks in a cool, dark place. Stir once a week. At the end of 6 weeks, drain off vinegar, add sugar and let set for 24 hours.
