Ingredients

  • 1 medium head lettuce
  • 3 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 small pkg. frozen peas (raw)
  • 2 c. or less mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 or 4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced or diced
  • 2 or 3 tomatoes in wedges
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, crumbled

Method

  • Use 9 x 13-inch dish.
  • Layer broken lettuce, diced celery, sliced onion, sliced water chestnuts and peas.
  • Cover with mayonnaise.
  • Sprinkle on sugar.
  • Cover with grated Parmesan cheese, then eggs, tomatoes and bacon.
  • Cover lightly and refrigerate 24 hours before serving.
  • Serves 12.
