- 3 to 4 lb. Mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 large carton Ricotta cheese
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. red wine
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 to 3 lb. ground beef
- 6 to 8 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 boxes lasagne noodles
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Saute onion and garlic in olive oil.
- Brown ground beef.
- Add tomato paste, sauce, water, wine, oregano, sugar, salt and pepper. Simmer for several hours.
- Whip an egg and add to Ricotta.
- Layer noodles, meat sauce, Ricotta and Mozzarella in large deep lasagne pan.
- Top with Mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Can be frozen.
- Bake at 350° for approximately 45 minutes.
