- 1 lb. ground meat
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. whole basil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 lb. can tomatoes
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 10 oz. noodles
- 3 c. Ricotta or cottage cheese
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 2 beaten eggs
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced
Method
- Brown meat; drain fat.
- Add next 5 ingredients.
- Simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook noodles. Combine remaining ingredients except Mozzarella cheese.
- In a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish, layer 1/2 noodles, 1/2 cheese mixture, 1/2 Mozzarella and 1/2 meat.
- Repeat layering.
- Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
