- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 3 c. hot water
- 1/16 tsp. red pepper
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. powdered mustard
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 bay leaves
- Parmesan cheese
Method
- Heat oil in heavy skillet.
- Add garlic and onion.
- Add hamburger and cook and stir until crumbly and brown.
- Mix tomato paste, water and seasonings.
- Stir into meat.
- Cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
- When served, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
