Ingredients
- 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 box seedless raisins
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. raisin liquid
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Cover raisins with water and bring to a boil.
- Cool, drain and reserve 1 cup of liquid.
- Sift flour, soda, salt and spices together.
- Gradually add sugar to butter and cream until fluffy; add eggs and raisin liquid.
- Beat well and pour over dry ingredients.
- Mix well; add raisins.
- Bake in two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/4-inch greased and floured loaf pans for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
