Ingredients
- 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. cold salted water (1 tsp.)
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
Method
- Mix together cornmeal and salted water.
- Stir in scalded milk. Bring to a boil, stirring.
- Boil 10 minutes.
- Blend egg, sugar, molasses, butter, cinnamon and ginger.
- Pour into buttered 1 quart casserole and bake 1/2 hour.
- Stir in 1 cup of cold milk.
- Bake 2 hours at 300°.
- Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
